To connect a domain to your VPS, you’ll point DNS A records to the VPS IP and configure your web server to respond to that domain.

Add DNS A records at your DNS provider

Set:
  • @ → your VPS IP
  • www → your VPS IP (or set www as a CNAME to @)

Wait for DNS propagation

DNS can take a few hours (sometimes up to 24–48 hours) depending on caching.

Configure your web server for the domain

Your web server must be configured to serve the correct site when the request host is your domain.

Issue SSL after DNS points correctly

SSL issuance usually requires your domain to resolve to the VPS IP first.

Tip

If your domain points correctly but shows the default web server page, it usually means your virtual host/server block is missing or misconfigured.
